Four years ago, I shopped at the HCM warehouse with a beautiful, young, single mom who was nervous about this first time experience. She and her children had been abandoned by her spouse in late summer just as she was beginning her last year in college. Christmas expenses for her children seemed too far out of reach on her shoestring income. As we shopped together, her eyes widened and her spirits visibliy lifted. As we finished selecting toys, clothing and books and collected her food box, she said 'I can't believe all Henrico Christmas Mother has done for me and my family. This is the lift that I needed to finish my degree and take care of my family.'
2014 Henrico Christmas Mother Becky Goshorn
This is the story that 2014 Henrico Christmas Mother Becky Goshorn shares when asked why she devotes so much of her time to help our neighbors in need. "Please help us help them," is Becky's plea for helping to lift up the 1,800 families with children, seniors or disabled adults we expect to serve this year.
